Salmon Patties

Prep Time:  10 minutes
Cook Time:  10 minutes

1(14.75 oz) can salmon, drained.  Remove the skin and bones if desired
1/4 small chopped onion
4 saltine crackers, crushed into small pieces
1/2 tbsp Miracle Whip
1 tsp celery seeds
1 small egg
dash pepper

Preheat frying pan with 1/2 cup cooking oil.

In a medium bowl add egg, Miracle Whip, celery seeds, pepper and mix.

Mix in the onions and salmon.

Add the crushed crackers and mix until consistency to form a patty.

Form into small patties and place in preheated pan.  Fry approximately 5 minutes on each side.

Makes 6 - 7 small patties.

I like to crush my crackers in my hand and add them that way instead of turning them into crumbs.  I think the slightly larger pieces give the patties more flavor.   .... New Cook On The Block

Kool Aid Slush

Prep Time:  10 minutes

1 Kool Aid Single packet sweetened (0.55 oz)
1/2 cup water
2 cups ice

Place the water, Kool Aid mix and one cup of ice in a blender and cover.

Using the ice crush pulse button crush the ice.

Add remaining cup of ice and crush using the same pulse button.

Then use the blend button until Kool Aid is thoroughly mixed.

Makes one 16 oz glass.

This was so easy.  Just make sure you crush the ice until it's slushy otherwise it will end up just being Kool Aid with crushed ice and not a Slush.  But don't spend too much time crushing or you'll end up with nothing but liquid, lol.   .... New Cook On The Block

No Mess Oven Bacon

Prep Time:  5 minutes
Cook Time:  15 minutes

5-8 slices bacon

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Lay tin foil on a cookie sheet.

Place bacon on tin foil.

Cook in oven for approximately 15 minutes.  Check it periodically to prevent over-cooking.

My husband saw someone do this on TV and decided to try it.  It came out great.  The bacon was nice and crisp and best of all it stayed flat!  And there was no mess on top of the stove.  Clean up was a breeze.  He just picked up the tin foil and threw it away.  No greasy fry pan to wash.  You could cook up the whole package and put it in the frig to nuke in the microwave later if you like.   ....
